El ganado de los rancheros australianos (ZIP)
El continente australiano es una isla extremadamente seca, con menos de 600 mm de lluvia al año por término medio. A pesar de esto, el cultivo ganadero es un modo de sustento popular, incluso en las zonas más secas del interior. Una familia se ha basado en el conocimiento indígena de los Aborígenes, cuya ilustración revela una comprensión íntima de la tierra y muestra la manera que tienen de regar. A través del profundo conocimiento del medio ambiente, esta familia ha conseguido almacenar agua de lluvia y aumentar su ganado.

Los bushmen de Kalahari (ZIP)
Los antiguos pueblos San del Desierto de Kalahari en Sudáfrica fueron grupos de cazadores durante muchos siglos hasta ser despojados de sus tierras. Hoy en día nómadas todavía, a veces sobreviven durante meses gracias al agua que extraen de un melón que mantiene a las personas y a los animales en el desierto. Los rituales y cantos sagrados realizados por los chamanes invocan la lluvia para ayudar a los bushmen en su búsqueda.
